In 1970, God began to trouble the heart of Dr. Larry Ward over the plight of the world’s starving people. One evening he dreamed of looking into the faces of 40,000 dying people- the approximate number of those who died each day from hunger and hunger-related diseases in the early 70s. For Dr. Ward, the thought of 40,000 people dying every day of starvation or hunger-related diseases was overwhelming. But, God reminded him that these people die one at a time and can be saved one at a time.
