about?
Letters and cards from you are very important to your child and
his/her family. Your sponsored child is interested in learning about
your life and world. We hope you will take the time to write a letter
and start a friendship.
You
can do that here via e-mail or you can write a letter and send it
to the address below:
Your
e-mail letter will be printed and translated in the FH office in
the child's country, then delivered to the child. The child will
write you back through regular mail. It may take a couple of months
for the response to get to you.

A Testimony from the Field
Our
program manager in Bangladesh, wrote:
“The
last couple of years, children have been receiving more letters
from their sponsors. The children are very encouraged. Many of the
letters are written on cards or decorated, colored paper. The children
know the letter was written especially for them because they find
their name on it. Each letter must be translated for the child by
a teacher or staff worker. This serves to strengthen the bond between
the child and teacher. Some young children ask over and over when
they will get another. The children share the letters they receive
with their classmates.”

Don't know what to write
about?
Here are some ideas to get you started:
1.
Give your greetings to the family as well as the child. Most sponsored
children have a parent and brothers and sisters and it's good
to include them when possible.
2. Children want to know about their sponsors work, such as what
they do to earn a living.
3. Children often request a photo of the sponsor and their family.
4. Common questions are “What does your country look like?
How big is the USA? What kind of house do you sleep in? Do you
eat the same food as we eat?”
5. Some children wonder why sponsors talk so much about their
cats and dogs since these are often not viewed as pets where they
live.
6. They want to know if you worship the same God as they do.
