TC Bio
Steve Robertson is the new International Staff and Teams Coordinator for FHI Bolivia. Steve hails from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and has spent most of the last decade working as a Youth Pastor in two Canadian churches. Steve has his Masters in Theology from Wycliffe College at the University of Toronto, but also draws from a wide variety of life-experiences. He enjoys tinkering on the computer, loves music of all types, and even claims to play a little guitar himself. He also loves to travel and has set foot in over 20 different countries around the world, several of those being missions-related trips.

Steve has led over a hundred people on cross-cultural missions into Latin America and brings that experience to his position as the Teams Coordinator for FHI Bolivia. Having just reorganized FHI/B's Teams Program, he hopes to offer visiting teams a high-quality experience that is both meaningful and productive. He believes that whether teams realize it or not, they need and want the following during their short-term missions experience:

1. A Team and its members want to feel like they are contributing something meaningful.
2. A Team and its members need to experience a sense of accomplishment.
3. A Team and its members need sufficient time to experience the new culture and be impacted by it. They need time to process.
4. A Team and its members need to experience both an entry and an exit from the culture. (ie. A briefing and a debriefing)
5. A Team and its members want things to go as smoothly as possible during their stay.

Steve hopes to offer a program that meets these needs, while at the same time serves a valuable and practical function within the work of FHI Bolivia.

Steve's wife Janice, is a registered nurse who hails from Chatham, Ontario, Canada. Janice currently works as the Project Designer for FHI Bolivia's Health Program. Janice has served in Bolivia since 1999, beginning as a field-worker in the rural areas outside of Sucre. Janice plays the piano, loves to cook and enjoys reading a good book.
