Kim
Freidah Brown,
Country Director
Prior to 1992, when she began mission service in
Mexico and Nicaragua, Kim was a teacher,
counselor, and psychologist in U.S. schools. She
holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the
University of Arizona and is an ordained
Presbyterian elder and deacon. Kim and her
husband Ken have two children, Krista and Lucas.
She is passionate about Nicaragua, God’s Kingdom
and encouraging and connecting people.
Nathan
Sandahl,
Associate
Country Director
Nathan grew up in Ecuador, where his parents
were missionaries. It was during this time that
he developed a love for Latin American people
and the Lord placed it on his heart to serve Him
in the future. Nathan earned his degree in
Sociology, and later completed the Human Needs
and Global Resources program at Wheaton College
(IL). After college, Nathan served in various
roles with FH in Guatemala for six years prior
to moving to Nicaragua in July 2006 with his
wife Cory. They have two children, Bryan and
Cynthia.
Joseph
Michael Saeli,
Agricultural &
Spiritual Care Advisor
Mike grew up on his family's third-generation
dairy farm in New York. After graduating
from college he married and served as a teacher
in the Peace Corps in Micronesia, Western
Caroline Islands. He later converted his farm to
organic, raising small grains, corn, soy, and
beef. In his local church, Mike taught Sunday
school, and served as an Elder and Missions
Committee chairman. Mike and his wife
Maria came to Leon, Nicaragua in 2002 and joined
FH in June 2006. They have 3 grown
children and 5 grandchildren.
Maria Saeli, RN,
Community Health Advisor
Maria grew up in Tennessee, and graduated from
college with degrees in English and Nursing.
In the Peace Corps she was School Nurse for
Outer Islands High School, and worked with
villagers in the area of prenatal care.
She worked with Mike on the farm while raising
their children, than later was a school nurse
and worked in Public Health and Hospice.
Maria served as a deacon in her church, serving
on the Missions Committee and Intercessory
Prayer Team. Since coming to Nicaragua she has
worked in the areas of hospitality, hosting
visiting teams, and in health promotion.
Andrea
Kamouyerou,
Teams Coordinator
Andrea was born and
raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After receiving
her Bachelor of Arts degree in International
Relations and Spanish from Duquesne University, she
spent several months seeking God´s will for her
vocational life before committing to serve overseas
in Nicaragua with FH as the Teams Coordinator.
Andrea believes wholeheartedly in God´s desire to
meet both physical and spiritual needs in a way that
brings love and dignity to His children.
Pamela
Neumann,
Communications
Specialist
A long-time Texas resident, Pamela
previously worked for
City Year as a Program Manager and for the
University of Texas at San Antonio as the
Service-Learning Coordinator. She earned her
Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from
Trinity University. Pamela began her relationship
with Christ in 1995 and has participated in numerous
church mission trips to Latin American countries
over the last 4 years. She has been serving in
Nicaragua since May 2006.
Mike
Coberley,
Business Mentor
Born and raised in Illinois, Mike earned his BA in
Business Administration and an MBA in International
Economics. While pursuing his career in finance and
accounting, he also became very involved in his
local church.
Mike has 10 children, 8 of which are adopted. He
began volunteering with FH in 2000, promoting child
sponsorship and fundraising for community
development projects. He says, "I am a grateful
recipient of God's grace and love that has
manifested itself in a call to serve in Nicaragua."
