For nearly 20 years Food for the Hungry (FHI) Peru has sought to minister to the spiritual and physical hungers of the poorest people in Peru. We work to meet spiritual hunger through the Gospel message of Jesus Christ, discipleship, and evangelism. We work to meet physical hungers through sustainable development: development that is initiated by the community, owned by the community, and thus it is sustained by the community. It is with great enthusiasm that we welcome you to our site. Peru is a young country with 50% of the population being under the age of 18. These young ones are tomorrow's leaders. For this reason the Child Development Program is one of the principal programs of FHI Peru. This program seeks to equip children physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually so they can grow to become the men and women God designed them to be. Child Sponsorship allows sponsors to have a direct impact in the lives of the children of Peru. Among other benefits, sponsorship provides children with educational opportunities, medical checkups and school supplies. Most importantly these children hear how they can have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. FH staff work in each of the communities were FH serves, ministering daily to the children and their families. Click here and learn how you can sponsor a child from Peru today. Although FHI Peru's core program is Child Sponsorship, we also work in areas such as agricultural, health, income generation, and have a pastoral staff which works to develop and support community churches. 1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. 2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. 3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. 4. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. 5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. 6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. 7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. |
