Education program
Education in the Philippines is becoming costly. Even in Government run schools, parents have to pay for their children’s tuition fees and to provide for their school needs (e.g. school bag, uniforms, notebooks, pencils, etc.).
Child development program helped parents to pay for school tuition fees, meet school needs of their children, cover payment for school projects like carpentry, handicrafts, etc., provide books of children and help CDP children engaged in school activities such as school fieldtrips, camps and occasional programs.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
-
116 CDP children access to primary education and 34 access to secondary education.
-
Of the 150 sponsored children, 14 graduated in grade school.

Greetings from the Staff
Dear Sponsor,
Greetings from Nueva,
Laguna!
I would like to thank you for sponsoring
our children in the area of Landayan/Nueva. Landayan/Nueva is one of the depressed areas in the first district of Laguna. The main issue is survival. Thirty percent (30%) of the population are squatters with no permanent house, and some families are house renters. Most of the people are construction workers, laborers, fisherman and scavengers. Other problem in the community are vices, drug addiction and lack of education poverty situation.
Communities namely Pulo, Tamuro, Duloi St. Joseph, Maligaya 1 & 2 and A-Lot Elvinda are assisted by FHI/Philippines through the Child Development Program (CDP).
FHI/Philippines is in partnership with Jesus Is The Christ Christian Fellowship. Links were made as well with both government and none government agencies in the communities we work with. FHI CDP staff works hand in hand with the leaders of the area to solve the identified needs and problems of the community.
The year 2004 has been year of blessings in spite of the economic crisis. God’s faithfulness remains and His grace abounds more so if there are generous people like you who is willing to give for a good cause.
As a CDP Staff I have seen with my own eyes, many lives changed because of CDP. Our effort is not in vain because I know it bears good fruit.
You are remembered especially in prayer. May the Lord be the one to bless you for sharing your blessings with those who are in needs.
In Christ
