Greeting from the staff

Dear Sponsors,

Greetings from Laguna!

We would like to thank you for sponsoring 455 children in this area of Laguna. It is one of the depressed communities in Southern Luzon. A great percentage of the residents have been living below the poverty line. Laguna has been known as an agricultural land but the poverty situation is real bad because the lands are controlled by the few powerful individuals.

FHI/Philippines is in partnership with two local churches in the area the United Methodist and Christian Reformed Church. FHI/Philippines work also hand in hand with the leaders of the area to solve the identified needs and problems of the community.

The year 2004 has been year of God's faithfulness, it was a great challenges for the Laguna CDP program considering the various problems we faced but thank God because we can continue through your faithful support.

As a CDP staff, we have seen with our very eyes many changed lives because of the program. Our effort is not in vain because we know it bears good fruit.

You are always included in our prayers, and may the good Lord richly bless and keep you for sharing your blessings with those who are in need.

In Christ,
Egay Atienza
