Child Development Program Day  2001  (Everybody's Birthday)

It has been another year to thank God for the many blessings He has been giving through the Child Development Program.  This year, some CDP Centers joined together to celebrate CDP Day celebration.  Children and the parents took this opportunity to celebrate the goodness of God.  Whole day program was conducted in a school auditorium with full attendance of children and parents.  It was a joy to see children dressed in various Filipino customs and performing different dances of the region.

The music made the celebration joyful and exciting.  There were games to the delight of the children.  At lunchtime, the children and the parents had an agape meal (sharing of food).  Part of the program also is the message of hope given by our invited pastor to the CDP families.  In spite of the difficulties we have been encountering because of the peso devaluation, the closure of a number of factories and companies, kidnapping incidences by various rebel groups and many other problems, the more our children and parents should strive hard.  CDP children can only have a brighter future if they study hard and complete their college education.

Coinciding with the CDP celebration is the Everybodyfs birthday. An opportunity for each CDP sponsored child to celebrate their life and the years added to them by the Lord.  All CDP children were given water jug as a birthday gift from their sponsors.  Some of the school attended by our children has no water supply the reason why water jug was requested.

Prior to the opening of classes, school materials were distributed as well to our children.  The provision of school materials helps encourage our children to be excited in school and motivates them to study hard.  This year, each CDP child received one school bag, 12 notebooks, crayon, ruler, pad paper, pencils and ball pens.
