In this multi-faceted process of community development,
the following few key groups of people can be distinguished:
-
Family - the cell group of a
community
-
Leaders - people in authority
that can influence the community through the attitudes and the decisions
they may take that impact the community and the local church.
-
The Local Church - a structure
that is essential in forming the character of the people reaching
higher standards of morality through the proclamation of biblical
truth. The Local Church has the God-given potential to influence
each community member from a spiritual, social, intelectual and
phisical perspective.
FHI Community Development
focuses its work on these three groups of people. As we help these key
groups to start the process of community development, the process will
strengthen. With this in mind, FHI Community
Development has set the following objectives:
-
The Local Church: should increasingly
be reaching out to their community
-
Leaders: should be increasingly
solving problems in their community
-
Family members: should be increasingly
meeting each others’s needs.
