May ~July

Back in Sorocoto, we began to make some home improvements before we handed our house over to the community.  Pete and Alejandro carried these slabs of rock to make a nicer front patio.

We also put Pete's brother Ben to work while he was visiting us in Sorocoto and he painted the house white.  It looked sharp!

The project that was started last November when the Indiana church was with us, was finally finished and the meeting room looks great!  The people love the new and improved community building.  It sure makes day long meetings much more enjoyable!

The public latrines were also finished and are being used regularly.

Here's another project being tested.  This was the harrow that Pete's brother Andy built when he was visiting us last November.  Our friends Ceprian and Emilio are trying it out in their field.
Lori enjoyed a few more times cooking with Sinferosa in her kitchen.  Boy, is she going to miss those days!

Pete helped design this toilet which our friend Alejandro put in a pit latrine that he dug.  After seeing this toilet, there were other men who wanted to make the same thing at their houses to provide their families with a sanitary toilet.

After moving to the city at the beginning of June, Pete was involved more in training different groups within the FH office in Sucre on incarnational ministry.  We took what we had learned during the last 3 years and made it into training material to help others live fulltime with the people in the campo.   This group is the team of health promoters who are living and working with FH fulltime in their communities.

After moving to the city, Lori focused on finishing the Sunday school curriculum that she then left with the church in Sorocoto.  Here she is sitting with a couple of years' worth of crafts.
The finished lesson books.   These folders contain lessons for the whole Bible for the church in Sorocoto to use.  She also left a copy with FH to use in the other zones where they work.
The black box in the middle contains the Sunday school curriculum and here's a picture of Lori handing over the material to some of the church members who have been trained to teach the children.  The second guy from the left, Ceprian, is the main teacher.  Please pray for him as he continues to teach the children.  Pray also that the other Christians in the church would come alongside him and help in this ministry.
Lori's friend Sinferosa moved to the city in July with her daughter, Suzy, the one on the far left.  Sinferosa and her husband have decided to move to Sucre in order for their kids to have better educations, beyond the 5th grade.   This happened to be Sinferosa's birthday so Lori had her over to the apartment in the city and we cooked a huge meal to celebrate!   Isn't Sinferosa so cute!!!
Lori LOVED being able to spend more time with Sinferosa and her family, especially her youngest daughter Heidi, in Lori's lap.
