Here's our little hiker. We enjoyed a camping trip in August with our Pastor's family in Flagstaff. It was so nice to get out of the summer heat.
Cute little Lily...
A highlight of our year was our family vacation in August '06. We went to Ouray, CO and spent a week in Lori's Uncle and Aunt's house, enjoying the amazing scenery, the quaint little town, and the beautiful weather. Pete was in between summer school and his fall semester, so it was great to have him with us without the pressures of homework. Here is Lily teaching her daddy about the different bugs found in the woods on one of our daily hikes.
Lily didn't always stay alert on our hikes. She often times enjoyed a little snooze on daddy's back.
Wow!! Every hike was beautiful and refreshing to our souls. Here is Lori with Lily and Silas enjoying the mountain air. (Silas was 6 months in the making inside of Lori :) )
Lily found a dirty shirt to use as a head covering.
We enjoyed a visit from Grandpa and Grandma Newell in November. Lily loved playing with "Erpa" and "Erma".
Caught pumpkin handed!!! Lily was unusually quiet in the kitchen one evening as we were sitting in the living room waiting for our dinner guests. We went to the kitchen to see if she was alright and there she was shoveling pumpkin pie into her mouth. She had put the kitchen stool up to the counter and was helping herself to the dessert!
Lily is looking cool at the soccer field. She is already a fan of the #1 sport. We're raising her right! :)
The year just wouldn't be complete without a trip to Edward's Orchard. Lily and Lori were able to spend a couple of days in Sycamore in October and of course made their way to the best apple orchard in the country to eat some yummy apple cider donuts. Pete came for the weekend for us to enjoy our 10 year reunion at Wheaton College. It was super fun to reconnect with friends and enjoy the campus.
Lily loved her first pony ride at Edward's with Grandad's help. Her smile just got bigger each time she went around.
Ok, Silas.... time to come out! This was Lori a day or two before Silas was born. To see pictures of Silas click on "Silas" to the left of this picture.
