Both Kathy and Shannon have felt called to give something back for all the good God has bestowed on them so after much prayer and consultation with each other and God, they felt they should give something back in Nicaragua. So after October of 2004 the Ahern family minus Sean, Patrick and Jonathan, will be living in Managua, Nicaragua and spending most of our time learning Spanish. Eventually Shannon will be helping small business people get started and helping set up small savings and loans in the smaller communities. Kathy hopes to get involved in the same town working with mothers and young women.

Katie made friends fast the last time she visited Nicaragua. We're sure she will do the same in October when she begins attending the Nicaragua Christian Academy.
